Toy Consignment at Mindzai

You can now sell your toys at Mindzai. if you've ever been to Japan or Hong Kong, you'll find toy consignment shops everywhere! We're going to bring a little of that flavour to Mindzai.

Are you tired of your old toys cluttering up your space? Do you want to make some extra cash while finding a new home for your beloved figures and dolls? Then this is for you.

Here's How it Works

STEP 1: Gather all the toys you have at home and put them in a box. Box Packaging is welcome but not mandatory. 

STEP 2: Bring your toys to our Mindzai Shop and we'll gather all your toy titles, your selling prices and other info such as your name and payment details.

STEP 3: Our team will then log them into our system, take photos and place them beautifully in our shop so customers can appreciate them. We provide all lighting, risers and other materials to make it look great. When the item sells, we will log that and then send you a payment! 

Fees

Unlike consignment stores in Asia, there are no rental fees for placing the toys in our cabinets. However, we do take a 20% commission fee for your asking price that you set. Everyone has different objectives when selling; some just want to sell it quickly so they can get another toy, some are looking for top dollar, and some just want to get rid of something that's been in the basement for a few years so think about what your objective is and set your price. 

Our team cannot help you with pricing so please come with an idea of what you want to sell it at. We typically find that retail or slightly above retail pricing is what works best. If you price it too high, it may just sit...but...what's the point of that?

How and where we sell your toys

We sell your toys in our shop, we promote them in our weekly newsletter, both our US and Canadian websites, Livestream shows on Whatnot, Popshoplive, Ntwrk, Poshmark, TikTok and even third party marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon. Our reach is pretty long. To cover fees from third party marketplaces, we will increase the pricing on those third party sites so there's no effect for you.

How long can we keep toys at our shop?

Good question. We don't want the toys to stay here forever either so we may contact you after 6 months to come and pickup the toys that don't sell or maybe ask you to lower your pricing to make it more attractive to others. That being said, we do a pretty damn good job of promoting your toys in our shop, on our website, third party markets and in all the livestream shows that we do. 

Why can't I just do this myself on Ebay / Facebook Marketplace / Kijiji / whatever?

Yeah...why don't you? Here's what we know. We are all busy and not everyone has time to log everything, research pricing, take photos, write descriptions, post them up to the website, meet up with someone at a public mall only to have them ghost you or change plans at the last minute. It's not that easy. 

Other important details

This is a new program for us so we are constantly improving and upgrading our processes so I hope you'll be patient with us.

At this time, payments are manually processed once per month. However, we are working to get payments to be automatic.
